A four-passenger luxury touring car, the BMW 650 coupe
is based on the same platform the brand uses for their popular
5-series sedan. Ideal for enthusiasts searching for an attractive
ride with more character than a typical luxury car rental,
the 650 coupe combines not only speed and style but convenience
and comfort as well.
Front and rear suspensions on the car are calibrated, which
produces a lower ride height and faster speed. To keep the
car as light weight as possible, BMW used aluminum on the
body as well as a composite deck lid and thermoplastic front
fenders that look good and weight next to nothing. Antilock
disc brakes, stability control, 18-inch wheels, seat-mounted
airbags, front knee airbags and adaptive xenon headlights
all come standard on the exotic car rental, which also features
a subscription to BMW’s assist emergency telematics
system.
Two optional packages are available for drivers who prefer
to outfit their BMW car rental with more extravagant amenities.
The Cold Weather package feature heated seats and a heated
steering wheel to protect against the chills of winter while
the Sport package incorporates 19-inch wheels, an enhanced
exterior trim and stylish sport seats.
The interior comes standard with extravagant luxuries like
12-way power front seats with driver memory, dual-zone automatic
climate control, leather upholstery, Bluetooth, an eight-speaker
surround sound audio system and iPod integration. Possible
upgrades include active steering, adaptive cruise control
and keyless ignition.
Underneath the hood is a 4.8-liter V8 engine that produces
360 horsepower and 360 pound-feet of torque. The rear-wheel
drive coupe comes with a standard six-speed manual transmission
but drivers can choose the new six-speed automatic transmission
that just became available. Featuring downshift rev-matching,
the automatic transmission is controlled by steering wheel
mounted paddle shifters and offers a surprisingly smooth
ride.
