Mercedes Benz 2009 SL Class
A more aggressive design and powerful engine make the 2009
Mercedes Benz SL Class seem a lot more rugged than previous
models. Featuring a new Direct-Street system that varies
the steering ration depending on front wheel angle, speed
and load forces on the suspension components, this redesigned
luxury car rental is ideal for those who look for a combination
of both style and capability.
Available in four different models, the 550, the 600, the
63AMG and the 65AMB, the two-seat roadster comes with a
retractable hardtop that can be let down when the sun is
shining. A revised Active Body Control system with computer-controlled
shock absorbers control the car’s body movement, depending
on the speed and steering angle of the vehicle, so that
it corners well and rides a lot more smoothly.
The exotic car rental comes standard with several amenities,
including: an active suspension system, a wind deflector,
heated wipers and washer nozzles, bi-xenon headlights, rain-sensing
wipers, auto-locking interior storage bins, 12-way heated
power front seats with memory, soft leather upholstery and
a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel. If that’s
not enough, optional luxuries, like Bluetooth capabilities,
a navigation system, a surround-sound stereo system and
iPod integration are also available. To maintain a comfortable
cabin, the Mercedes Benz car rental also includes an intelligent
dual-zone automatic climate control system that features
sensors to detect sun position, roof and window position,
humidity and dew point and the number of people riding in
the car.
But everyone knows the most important thing about a car
is the engine. Powered by a 5.5-liter V8, the standard SL550
produces 382 horsepower through a seven-speed automatic
transmission. The SL600 features a twin-turbo V12 that generates
510 horsepower through a five-speed automatic transmission
while the two AMG-based models are even more powerful. The
SL63AMB produces 518 horsepower through a 6.2-liter V8 while
the SL65AMG boasts a twin-turbocharged, 6.0-liter V12 engine
that produces 604 horsepower. Both AMG models feature a
new seven speed automatic manual gearbox transmission known
as the Speeshift MCT.
