Porsche 911 Carrera
Available in two different trim levels, the 2008 Porsche 911 Carrera combines power, speed and style and includes the manufacturer’s trademark rear-engine design. The perfect exotic car rental for drivers who crave speed and reputation, the Carrera comes standard with full power accessories, vestigial rear seats for additional passengers and automatic climate control.
The two trim levels, the Carrera and Carrera S, are available in three different body styles: the couple, the Cabriolet (convertible) and the Targa 4, which features a power-sliding glass roof and a flip-up rear glass hatch. The S comes standard with 19-inch wheels, active suspension management technology, larger breaks, bi-HID xenon headlights, a sport steering wheel and upgraded interior and exterior trim.
Both trim levels are available in rear- or all-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission. The standard Carrera is powered by a 3.6-liter, horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine and produces 325 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. The S holds more power and produces 355 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque through a 3.8-liter version of the same six-cylinder engine. If you intend to race your Carrera, invest in the Sport Chrono Pacakge, which includes devices that keep track of lap times and records the electronic throttle for faster response times.
But what makes each level the perfect luxury car rental is the interior. Both the Carrera and Carrera S come with custom color schemes, unique seats, impressive stereo, customized leather trim and wood, aluminum or carbon-fiber accents. Drivers of the Porsche car rental can also look forward to extravagant upgrades, like race-bred ceramic disc brakes and a navigation system.
