Rolls Royce
The ultimate symbol of wealth, a Rolls Royce car rental represents everything a luxury automobile should be. Launched in the early 1900′s, the British car manufacturer has been the company to beat and is renowned for producing extravagant vehicles that combine both technology and old world style.
The first Rolls Royce exotic car rental was released in 1906 and was named the Silver Ghost, perhaps because it was so fast for it’s time that consumers barely saw it as it whizzed by on the street. Powered by a six-cylinder engine, the Silver Ghost was monumental because it featured so many details and amenities that those in the automobile world had yet to see. Labeled the best car in the world, the luxury car rental was very reliable and easy for consumers to drive.
During the 1920′s the manufacturer saw profits in the United States – where they opened a second factory. It was during this time that the Phantom I was released. Another advanced vehicle for the time, this Rolls Royce was powered by a new, pushrod-operated overhead valve engine and included detachable cylinder heads.
And while Rolls Royce never lost popularity, gas shortages and other financial woes forced the company to file for bankruptcy in the 1970′s. After being purchased and revived by Vickers PLC in 1980, the company released the Silver Spirit, which still maintained the technology and style Rolls Royce was known for but featured edgier lines and amenities that appealed to a younger crowd.
The company continues to expand to this day and continues to produce every part of each vehicle in-house. Handcrafted, rather than outsourced to companies, every part of a Rolls Royce car bears the brands name and, while this can raise the price of a vehicle, owners of a Rolls Royce take comfort in knowing that their cars were hand built for reliability.
